THIS GIVEAWAY IS OFFICIALLY OVER.
SEE MY JULY 31ST POST.
Say what?
What is a Blog Launch without a GIVEAWAY? Anticlimactic, I say! And what if the winner received a cookbook containing delicious comfort-food recipes that just happen to be low-carb? Are you salivating yet?
The Primal Low Carb Kitchen by Kyndra Holley (founder of Peace, Love and Low Carb), might soon be inspiring your culinary leanings. Whether you are a current low-carber or wanting to investigate further, this book of recipes is certain to change your meals!
Here is what Amazon has to say about it...
Give Your Low-Carb Diet A Healthy, Primal Makeover Without Sacrificing Taste
The healthy, low-carb recipes in this cookbook taste so good you'll forget you're on a diet! Think you have to give up biscuits and gravy, waffles, rich sauces and pizza? Think again.
The low-carb diet has proven itself effective, but when it's done with highly-processed low-carb alternatives, it is not always as healthy as it sounds. That's where Kyndra Holley comes in. She is the mastermind behind the blog Peace, Love and Low Carb, and has melded the best of both worlds: a time-tested low carb approach with healthy, whole-food Primal ingredients.
Following the Primal template, Kyndra cuts out grains and gluten and emphasizes whole, unprocessed, "real" foods. A lifelong foodie with personal experience losing weight on the low-carb diet, Kyndra brings you mouthwatering comfort food recipes such as Caramelized Onion and Prosciutto "Mac" and Cheese, Italian Meatballs with Tomato Cream Sauce, Chili Dogs, Eggplant Lasagna and more.
After all, who says dieting has to be about sacrifice? You'll feel fuller, radiant and satisfied thanks to these healthy, nutrient-dense low-carb meals.

ReplyDeleteI'm trying the low carb way to loose my baby weight I'm still carrying around my middle a year on. I'm in the United Kingdom so it's fine if I can't enter. Thanks for sharing this blog.
ReplyDeleteHello!
DeleteSo nice to meet you! I, too, had a lot of trouble losing my baby weight. In fact, my weight just kept climbing from there. (My story can be linked to in the upper left sidebar of my blog.) Low-carbing is now shrinking my middle. Congratulations on your baby!
I will be ordering the book from Amazon and having them ship directly to the winner. So, it is perfectly ok to have you on board!
Smiles, Karen
I'm Renna Hanlon, from Texas. I've been following you along, being encouraged by your progress for months. I've been gathering a selection of recipes on Pinterest, working my way up (getting psyched) to begin my own low carb eating plan.
ReplyDeleteI cook for my husband and adult son, who won't be low carbing, so it's a little daunting to me how I'm going to pull this off.
I did low carb for just over a year, several years ago, and lost 36 lbs, but it was a struggle cooking for non-low carbers, along with myself. Plus, I relied on a lot of sugar-free sweets to satisfy my sweet tooth. Now that those I ate have since been proven to be bad for you, I'll no longer have that crutch.
Hi Renna...
DeleteIt is always a delight to hear from you! I am happy that you are encouraged by my journey! For a while, I was the only one low-carbing in my family. Then, I just began to cook low-carb meals — for everyone. Ha! They didn't have much choice. The neat thing is, my hubby and 2 boys really love the food!
My hubby is dealing with high blood pressure right now and he has begun to low-carb. It's working! My 16-year-old eats whatever I make; however, although he still eats starches, he has cut out a ton of sugar. His complexion has cleared up!
Smiles, Karen
Hi! I just found out I was insulin resistant and need to cut sugar and go low carb( something I have been wanting to do and now this forces my hand to really dig in deep!) My friend Renna Hanlon introduced me to your blog and so here I am !

Welcome, Tracey!
DeleteRenna is a wonderful friend to have! She has been a faithful reader ever since I began blogging at eye-dyllic!
I'm sorry to hear about your insulin resistance. I know that low-carbing is going to be extremely helpful for you.
I have been off sugar since September of 2015. It is liberating to be around it and not crave it. I sometimes eat a couple of chocolate squares with a high percentage of cocoa — without having to eat the entire bar!
My favorite sugar substitute, not artificial sweetener, is stevia, sometimes erythritol. I often use chocolate liquid stevia in my coffee with a little heavy cream. Yum!
Feel free to report your progress on this blog!
Smiles, Karen
Karen, where is your source for chocolate liquid stevia?
DeleteRenna...
DeleteMany whole/health food stores sell liquid stevia. Not all of them have flavored versions. We have a Natural Grocers in Boise, Idaho. Here is a store locator: https://www.naturalgrocers.com/store-locations/ . They might have one in your area.
Also, here is a search page if you want to order online: https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=chocolate%20liquid%20stevia
My name is Lynne, I am from CA and I am a carboholic. There was a season in my life where I lived low-carb very successfully. Then I fell off the wagon and had some bread and then some goodies. Today I had slices of wonderful breakfast loaf from Marie Callender's -- so good, but now my wrists and hands hurt, which is sometimes the sad consequences of indulging in the "white stuff." I love hearing of your success and am trusting for some of my own!! Love you, KJ!
ReplyDeleteLove you, too, Lynne. Thanks for sharing! I have been low-carbing for almost 1 year now. There are many things that I struggled with: sinus problems, bloating, aches, headaches, brain fog. I have seen big improvements in all of these areas and my energy is so much livelier!
DeleteI would love to win this ... as I have found out that going organic (as much as possible) is better for me. Would love to lose weight .. believe may be losing inches (not that many) .. but not sure on weight .. and it hasn't been that much. I would definitely love to see a difference in me .. such as NO headaches .. and see an increase in my ENERGY LEVEL ... which has been down for quite awhile. Would love to see improvements in me ... and benefit from the low carb recipes. Pick me, pick me, pick me!! Thanks so much for sharing this!!
ReplyDeleteI am Jan Biggs ..and would LOVE TO WIN this cookbook .. as could definitely stand to lose some weight ... as well as getting rid of headaches, and improvements in energy. Thinking clearer would be great .. maybe I would not forget what I am going to say ... mid sentence. Have been cutting out preservatives .. and trying to lose weight .. not sure if I've dropped any weight .. but I feel a little different in pant size .. which is good ... and would love to cut out any preservatives .. as much as possible. Thanks for sharing this .. and I hope I am the one that is picked ... as would love to see all your yummy recipes. Energy level needs to get more lively .. as well as no headaches, more energy, no more bloating or brain fog!! Thanks for sharing this Karen!!
ReplyDeleteThank-you, Jan! You and I need to meet for coffee soon. I can share some helpful ideas with you!

I have been exploring low- carb meals I just don't know where to start. But I can't turn down those Idaho potatoes.
ReplyDeleteHi Michaela...
DeleteI do sneak in potatoes now and then. I just have to be careful that I don't overdo it. I am a spud lover for sure!
If you ever want to meet for coffee or lunch, let me know. I can answer any questions and direct you to some great resources. I have most of my cookbooks on my phone. Look at my right sidebar for some super links.
